avec, a Mediterranean and Midwestern influenced shared plates restaurant, has remained one of Chicago’s favorites for over 17 years. Originally conceived as a wine bar, avec is the second concept from celebrated One Off Hospitality. While wine still remains at avec’s core, Chef de Cuisine, Dylan Patel’s rustic menu features ingredients from valued local purveyors for weekday lunch, Saturday & Sunday brunch and daily dinner service. The wine list, while extensive, remains moderately priced and draws primarily from boutique vineyards in Southwestern Europe. As of February 2021, we are thrilled to extend the avec brand to it’s second location in River North.

bar avec, a brand new open-air rooftop concept joining the collective’s group of award-winning restaurants and bars. Located on the 8th floor of 640 N Lasalle Drive. Inspired by the leisurely style of dining and imbibing found at casual seaside diners in coastal Spanish & Portuguese towns dotting the Iberian Peninsula, bar avec takes that charm and combines it with sweeping views of Chicago’s magnificent downtown skyline. The come-as-you-are spot welcomes guests with a delightful reprieve from bustling city life, while a talented all-star team provides a lively and comfortable rooftop setting for anything from quick drinks and bites, day drinking and brunch with friends, or a full dinner under the stars.


Big Star

Big Star is a bourbon and beer-focused, taco-slinging, late-night honky-tonk with locations in both Wicker Park and Wrigleyville. Look for menu items inspired by authentic Mexican street food from Executive Chef Paul Kahan and Chef de Cuisine Chris Miller; all complemented by an extensive house-selected single barrel bourbon program.


Big Star West Town

Big Star Culinary Director Chris Miller, alongside Executive Chef Paul Kahan, brings a variety of coastal seafood offerings including ceviches, aguachiles, cócteles and more; blending the honky-tonk taqueria with seafood focused and ingredient-driven flavors from the coastal regions of Mexico.


Dove’s Luncheonette

Dove’s inviting menu delivers Southern-inspired Mexican cuisine, alongside a tequila and mezcal-focused bar program, with the spirit of genuine hospitality. The 41-stool luncheonette takes its name from Nelson Algren’s a walk on the wild side, and draws inspiration from Bygone diners and watering holes to create a place where people from all walks of life can converge over a cup of coffee, cocktail, and a great meal.


The Publican

A homage to oysters, pork and beer, The Publican's eclectic menu is inspired by simple farmhouse fare in a space evocative of a European beer hall. Executive Chef Paul Kahan has developed a network of purveyors to supply the restaurant with hand-selected, sustainably-harvested fish and seafood as well as sustainably-raised heirloom pork to anchor a rustic menu of simple, imaginative fare.


Publican Quality Bread

Helmed by James Beard Winning baker Greg Wade, Publican Quality Bread oversees the bread program for all One Off Hospitality Group concepts, creating new breads that compliment each restaurant's distinct menu. Rooted with whole grains and thoughtful fermentation, Greg and his team have expanded into a burgeoning wholesale division that currently supplies to over 50 restaurants across Chicago alongside their retail cafe bakery which opened in West Town in 2022.
